The Embrace, inspired by a photo of the Kings locked arm-in-arm, brings the power of physical collectiveness to a site where, in 1965, Martin Luther King called on the city to live by its highest ideals. When opened in 2023, The Embrace will embody the collaborative efforts of city leaders, King Boston, MASS Design Group, and artist Hank Willis Thomas to represent the Kings’ time in Boston and their approach to a just and equitable society.
