For a century, the event went without any marker or memorial, and for much of that time, the scope and nature of the conflict was largely under-recognized and reported within the county.
This film documents the inspiration and architecture of the Elaine Massacre Memorial, exploring the design choices that were made to help heal the wounds of history for this community as well as the reconciling effects of the memorial's commermoration on the 100th anniversary of the massacre.
