How to Submit a Film

Submitting your film is easier than ever! Follow the tutorial below to learn more about the participant portal and how to submit your film. If you’d prefer a video walkthrough, watch our webinar!

Access your participant portal

To get started, first register for the AIA Film Challenge. You must be registered to submit an entry. Next, simply login to visit your participant portal, where you can download release forms and the AIA Film Challenge logo to help you prepare your entry.

You can complete the following via your participant portal:

  • Add a YouTube or Vimeo link to your film
  • Upload completed release forms
  • Download helpful resources
  • Edit and save as you go
  • Preview your entry
  • Submit your film

Plus, participants can use the chat function in the bottom-right corner to get in touch with our team.

Add or edit your entry details

Simply click ‘Edit’ to visit (or revisit) a section.  You must complete each section of your entry before you submit your film. After you’ve edited a section, a checkmark appears to indicate that you’ve edited it.

After all the sections have been edited, the submission button will turn red and allow you to submit your entry. Please double-check each section before you submit your entry, as you will not be able to make changes after you submit.

 

 

You may make changes to the way your own name appears by navigating to the Profile icon to edit.

Preview & submit your entry

You’ll be asked to preview your entry before you finalize your submission. The preview is how your film will appear publicly, if it advances. Use this opportunity to ensure your video link works, that your name is accurate, and your film is titled. Again, if you need to make changes, simply head back to your participant portal to make edits.

After previewing, use the button (pictured above) to advance to the final steps, where you’ll agree to the rules and complete your submission.  After your entry is submitted, further editing will no longer be possible.

Submission confirmation

After you’ve successfully submitted your entry, you’ll be shown a confirmation screen similar to the example pictured below.  The confirmation screen will also provide details on next steps, and important dates.

 

Our community manager will notify participants of their entry status via email—please add our email address to your contacts or safe senders list to ensure you don’t miss important messages regarding your entry.
