To Hell and Back; Me, Myself and Bi Polar

Nigel has been a Film Editor in the UK for over 22 years starting his career in the TV and Film
Industry at the age of 16, even though he was told he’d never work in the industry and should
look for a factory job after leaving school.

He went on and had his edited work screened at
BAFTA, Aberdeen, Bordeaux, Berlin, Edinburgh, Cannes and his first feature opened the
Raindance Film Festival “Spinning Candy floss”. (2000)

Nigel trained at Pinewood Studios home of James Bond and is one of only three certified Avid
Film Editing Instructors in Scotland and teaches at the BBC, STV, RBS, UWS, Royal
Conservatoire of Scotland, Edinburgh Art College, Edinburgh College, Jump Cut Scheme @
Film City, GMAC, University of Herts, and Ravensbourne College, London, he is both a
practioner and a lecturer.

Nigel G Honey has had Manic Depression or today known as Bi Polar II since being diagnosed
at 19 years of age at London’s Top Psychiatric Maudsley Hospital, this film is his first venture
into his own First-Person Documentary as both Director and Participant.

Using Archive 8mm footage of his childhood filmed by his dad, and intercut with Interviews
with Family members, friends and work colleagues which he has encountered over the last 20
years in recovery, both within his good times and bad from child hood to adult hood to discover
what iit is like living with this life changing condition, and what is this so called “Normal” which everyone talks about in 2018.
