2021 AIA Film Challenge Finalists

Kansas City is home to nearly 60,000 veterans and an aging system of VA clinics. These clinics provide more than healthcare; they give a sense of belonging that helps newly returning veterans readjust. For many veterans, the VA clinics become a community where they can connect and share stories with one another. A local architecture firm partnered with the VA to design a new clinic, the largest in the regional VA healthcare system. This intuitively and well-designed clinic translates the needs of veterans into the design and incorporates a variety of services and cutting-edge healthcare technology. VA Lenexa provides quicker and closer healthcare access. It stands as the architectural community’s contribution, and a thank you to those who have served.
