Title: Manistique Community Treehouse Center
Category: Health & wellness
Description: Nestled between a beautiful Maple tree and a Cottonwood, the Manistique Treehouse will be a 400 square foot, ADA wheelchair accessible building in the Jefferson Chalmers Neighborhood. It will be a community-run center for occupational therapy and education, fully powered by solar energy. What started out as an idea for a treehouse, united a neighborhood and branched into endless opportunities for health and wellness, equity, and sustainability. After seeing its effects on her community, Director Tammy Black dreams of a community treehouse for every urban city in the United States and beyond.
