Title: EDUCATION: A CHILD'S HUMAN RIGHT
Category: Justice & equity
Description: The USAID Secondary Education for Development (SEED) Project strives to increase access to public community day secondary schools to reduce distances students travel to and from school, increase girls' attendance, and ultimately lessen early pregnancy, marriage, and new HIV infection. The project will deliver up to 200 new rural schools in areas where currently there are none. Tetra Tech will train school management committees to ensure the US government’s infrastructure investment will be safeguarded, maintained, and used as intended. Complimentary activities to the infrastructure component include an internship program for university students to build local technical capacity in Malawian young professionals.
